Elements and Performance Criteria
- Prepare to commission electronic unit
- Prepare for work following work health and safety (WHS) requirements
- Organise resources based on existing and potential site hazards
- Notify customer or network operations personnel to gain site access and network specifications
- Determine the type and complexity of electronic unit from specifications
- Verify installed electronic unit and associated cabling conform to specifications
- Establish commissioning dates and confirm with all parties
- Determine commissioning parameters according to specification, and establish planned outage if required
- Obtain test equipment and check suitability and calibration status
- 1.9 Produce a preliminary commissioning plan according to manufacturer's instructions and enterprise guidelines for discussion with customer
- Inform affected customers of impending action and likely timing and impact of the work
- Organise planned outages
- Negotiate outage times with appropriate groups and affected customers to minimise disruptions
- Refer to contingency plans and arrange for emergency communications if required
- Notify alarm management centre of planned action
- Obtain authority to proceed from relevant control centre and notify customers affected by the outage
- Perform commissioning procedures
- 3.1 Program equipment or install software according to manufacturer's specifications
- Set electronic unit parameters according to manufacturer’s specifications and customer requirements
- Set up test equipment and conduct tests according to manufacturer’s specifications and industry practice
- Connect and test network access facilities for correct performance
- Conduct cut over according to project design and industry practice in consultation with appropriate personnel
- Check remote alarm and monitoring features are functional, if applicable
- Finalise commissioning documentation
